Description
Two sets of lesson plans were developed to augment the EcoRaft experience in the classroom. These lesson plans, designed around the California educational standards related to ecology, encourage students to think critically about environmental issues and to engage in related discussions with their peers. Similar to EcoRaft, students are given the opportunity to explore a field of knowledge and form their own conclusions in collaboration with their classmates.

Roles and Responsibilities
I researched and created the lesson plans to augment the EcoRaft experience. This effort works toward the goal of extending the EcoRaft experience beyond the central museum exhibit and into the homes and classrooms of the children who play with it.

Two sets of lesson plans were created. The first set is designed around the California educational standards in ecology for fourth graders. The second set is designed around the California educational standards in ecology for fifth, sixth, and seventh graders (all 3 grades have similar standards).
